Experimenting with a wide variety of fiber art techniques and designs, Laurie Fagen transfers original photos and stitches with metallic threads for a highly contemporary feel … takes bright fabrics and creates whimsy and fun … or paints whole cloth for a soft, elegant design.
Fagen also creates fine silver jewelry and is certified as a Level 1 instructor in Art Clay. In addition, she creates one-of-a-kind polymer clay jewelry and often incorporates polymer into her fiber work, by custom designing beads and other surface design embellishments. Fagen is also working in fiber clay and apoxie sculpt resin clay for sculptures.
She’s shown her work in galleries and shops including in Ireland, Arizona, Washington, D.C., Illinois, Nevada, North Carolina and Iowa, and welcomes commissions that are highly personalized in nature to the recipient.
“I enjoy experimenting with a wide variety of fiber art techniques and designs for original, one-of-a-kind wall art. I also love to create one-of-a-kind polymer clay jewelry, from statement pieces to bling rings and more.

Leilani was born in Canada, has a Hawaiian name, but was raised in Southern California. She lived in Anaheim, California most of her life, enjoying the beaches and family vacations in the deserts of California and Mexico, riding off road and all terrain vehicles and motorcycles. In High School she took Home Economic classes in cooking and sewing, she loved arts & crafts, and belonged to the Drill Team and Dance Club. While working at Disneyland (1974-1976) she went to college studying Business and Fine Arts. She was a classically trained ballet dancer, since age 8, and continued to dance throughout her life in various disciplines, including being a member of a modern dance company while in college. She studied fine arts and enjoyed drawing and painting.
During her first marriage, she learned how to do wood burning on decorative gourds, and needle crafts like embroidery and knitting, and some sewing. In 2005 she decided to take a beginning quilting class at a local shop, and proceeded to take several more learning the skills and techniques for various projects.
I started my fiber arts journey in 2009 with knitting and then added weaving. I’ve also done wet felting and am getting started in art quilting.
Thank you for visiting my page! My sewing journey started as soon as I could reach the peddle on the sewing machine. My career started in Fashion Design and turned into Art Quilts in 1998. My work has been displayed in Quilt National ’05, Quilts=Art=Quilts, and international traveling exhibits through SAQA and in Taiwan Quilt Shows and books. I enjoy surface design and teaching quilt and garment-making skills. I love using color and shape to express my love of nature and the world around me. You can see more of my work on my website, https://Lindamccurry.com
As a retired math teacher, I like to use geometric patterns in my art quilts. I enjoy the planning phase and going through my stash of beautiful fabrics. Interesting machine quilting lines should be in harmony with the design. In recent years I added stitched poetry to my design repertoire.
A textile artist who enjoys working with both representational and abstract compositions. She states, “Working in abstraction forces me to discover the essence of a story and convey that essence with line and color.” Her work has been exhibited in museums, galleries, and shows throughout the US and Europe. www.piecefularts.com.
Much of my art relates to my perception of nature and social issues. Watercolor, fabric and thread are my paint. My realism portraits are driven by a need to know the intimate details of my subjects while my more abstract creations recognize that nature is playful
My strongest memories from childhood are of being outside, spending time interacting with rocks, bits of moss or bark and imagining them to be anything I wanted. As an only child I was able to walk alone through the forest and envision the natural world around me as my play space. It would transform in my mind to anything I could imagine. My mind wanders back to these experiences as I create. I feel the strong pull to focus on natural objects. As an adult I am able to actually transform them and bring a version of the imaginary into the real world.
