Leilani Purvis
As a traditional quilter for several years, I was eager to try other avenues of fiber art. After taking several classes, expanding my fiber knowledge and experimenting with techniques, I found I loved to do mixed media fiber art. My specialties are animal fabric collage and thread painting. I love using a wide variety of surface design materials like inks, handmade stencils and stamps, making my own lace, and using sari silk and cheese cloth. All these materials help with texture and entices the viewer to look closer at my work. My goal is to help introduce the public to fiber art with my presentations and classes in Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon.
