Peggy Murphy Payne

As a fiber artist/weaver, I like to think of my art as a way to express life through woven pictures, places, and unique designs. In looking at the world around me, sometimes life seems so busy and so I like to design some simple beauty that has helped calmed the chaos. In using a woven technique called transparency, I wove a peaceful beach scene called “Tranquility” and another piece called “Woman”. I also find creative expression in weaving in a non-traditional method of using various types of yarn, lace, leather strips, and fabric to make fabric that can be used to create bags, scarves, and other woven pieces.
